SCHEDULED DECEMBER 2008 - 8 Persons for Permit - This is 2 of 2 adventures offered in the Cades Cove area.  This adventure, is aggressive. If you've been waiting to test your grit in the great outdoors, this would be a good adventure to sign up into. We have done this route many times, and everyone loves the challenge.

We start out on the eastern side of Cades Coves and climb up to the Appalachian Trail (AT) to Spence Field Shelter.  There are many water crossings along the way, and this is a cold-weather trip, so gear management and back-country education will be key here.  We can help.

Thunderhead Mountain is within a day hike away.

From there, we continue southbound on the AT to Mollies Ridge Shelter then to campsite 12 for night 3. If folks want great scenery, and a little challenge, this is the one for you.
